Wow

Very nice. This is gonna be for an actual radio show? I'd tune in every other day, this is quite a nice little piece. I'd imagine this as the intro.

Ah, Radiohead

This sounds really neat. I thought Garageband was a really crappy DAW before I heard this, and I sort of still do, but you pulled off something neat with this. It's a cover, I'll give you an 8. Niceness :)!

Gritty, bassy

I like it. Nice beat, groovin' it up, yo ;).

Good work.

Well enough

First, a review.

Instrumentals are not powerful enough. The mixing is, honestly, pretty bad. The feel of the song is very, very hard to understand. It sound like an attempt at getting into this world of music, which it sort of does, but not well enough. There are some really nice musical ideas that could have come out of this, but this track screams mediocre.

Voice is "nice". I feel you didn't really feel into this at the start, and had to gradually move in, but that's not my biggest complaint. Guitar at the vocals is so quiet it isn't worth being there. The shift is minuscule. I can see it, and hear it, but it has to be felt. Audio production is a big thing, nearly bigger than creative writing, so don't neglect it.

The second chorus had a nice, upbeat feel to it, but didn't do it for me. Rhythmically, the entire song is lacking. I felt it was there obligatorily. Hmph.

Melodies are nice. Harmony, to my definition, is the use of an instrument to complement another. Right now, focus more on the harmony, in this sense, and the instrumentals. I wish you all the best in the future, and hope you understand I was trying to be as constructive as possible.

On a final note, you sound like somebody I know, sort of. Are you Australian?

Hey

Nice feel to this. As for a stripped bare, piano only loop, it's nice. Dynamics need more.

Just thought I'd check on some of your stuff, technosaur :p

A more fitting title...

...would be Cityscape at Night. It's what I think of whilst listening to this. A nice pulltogether of sounds and musical ideas, it really is quite nice. The mixing is well done. Not much to say here, but this is some nice work you've got here.

There's actually a reason behind the name.
My friend Rain wanted it named after her, and I thought that was pretty cool anyways, so I went with it.
Thanks though man.

True Ambience

Way before I started writing music, I always liked staying inside on a rainy day with my guitar and imagining a whole bunch of things: What was it like for somebody else, somewhere around the world? You think of something else, more than just what's going on in your life, when you look at nature. Luckily for me, we get plenty of rain in the summer, springtime, autumn and winter.

This song, the pan flutes, the ambient pad and the rain fit in together very well. The shifts are with the atmospheric change: when the thunder is heard, the thought you have changes, even though the melody's message remains the same.

To think you could have made this more would be semi ridiculous, but you wouldn't expect me to not criticize this properly, would you?

Needs more instrumental variation and shifts. I said before that the shifts came from the atmosphere sounds changing, which is awesome, but a new musical idea from the instruments you have chosen would have made the atmosphere more. I'm thinking male vox, double bass and steel string acoustic with a bit of slap.

Bass. If you just bring out some more bass, allowing it to cover the panflutes, it definitely complements your sound.

This is a nice piece to sit and think to. Good work!

Neat, calming piano piece

Taking classical music down to a bare instrument to show what can do in terms of speaking for the artist. I like that.

To be honest, it isn't difficult to write this kind of music. I've seen it everywhere before. This particular piece is nice, and I really like the soft arpeggio at the end, but there could have been some more variation.

Really exaggerate dynamics and tempo changes. For example, instead of mezzo piano, play piano pianoissimo, and instead of mezz forte, play fortissimo. Do not ever underestimate the bass. Learning these things can help you turn a simple piece like this and improvise it into an awesome, majestic piece.

The feel of the song is nice and tranquil, yet bittersweet. Good work!

Write...? errr I think i should inform you that i Improvised this, no writing i just pressed record and just hit random keys >.>

Love songs that build up

I do. This is a nice song, but I'm sick to death of hearing a plain old 4/4 kick drum in stuff like trance and house. I mean, I know it's the style of music, but seriously, there could be some variation once in a while.

The melodies and chosen instruments are fantastic. To me, the feel of the song is retrospective.

The mixing is done professionally. This is some quality work right here. Nice, man!

PrEmoEffect responds:

If you dislike the drum patterns, then try dnb or dubstep. They share some similarities with trance and house, but differ in the beats significantly. And yeah, about the feel of the song: you're dead on.

Yes

I downloaded this to my drive, hope you don't mind. Now every time I'm walking home from school I can get my Cage Rage on. Thanks man.

I write music for video games. I also write video games. I am also "Fyaopo" for those who want to know.
