Nice

Nice little piano piece. It's not an original composition, so I can't say much about the track's features, but it's a nice arrangement. The way this is played is probably created with DAWs but still, there's some dynamic in there (I think?). Unfortunately, they're all the wrong place. This makes the song sound dull and dry. You know what you have to do now :D

Ambiance

It's called ambiance, the genre. And it's sweet. For classical, it sounds nothing like it. For techno, I see no resemblance to any other techno song I've heard. This is ambient music.

The song needs more dynamics, and that's it. But dynamics is a huge thing in ambient music, which is why I took off 1.5 score. The other 0.5 score was taken off because of the unidentifiable sweeping white noise in the background.

I love the feel of this song, and the shifts are in there, which is awesome.

Good work!

Thanks for the help with classifying this... I never know what anything is nowadays... XD

The white noise was caused by the background synth, which has it sorta built in. I can run a pass on the file in Soundbooth if you think it really detracts from the song and cut it out.

Sweet!

You're right, guitar sounds really nice on top of this. Without it, it sounds pretty cool as well. You know what you're doing, nice job :D

Well made

The song is well mixed, and is OK for a classical piece.

Piano feels generated, but even if it is, that isn't necessarily a bad thing. It sounds nice, but doesn't have enough movement to it, not helped by the lack of shifts in the song. Also, I believe all classical pieces should be dynamically awesome, and sadly this song doesn't do that.

Bassline was nice. My main problem with the strings was they didn't compliment the piano's sound. Also, it feels like a single instrument (the strings) being played by ten people on the same instrument, clumped up in one space of the room.

There aren't enough movements in the song. In classical, the song needs to progressively take you somewhere, but very progressively. That's what 'movement' means for me, and I don't know if anybody else describes it like that, but I do. The feel can remain the same, just don't leave me in the same place all the time.

Oh well, time to focus on the positive. The instrumentality is nice. In terms of mixing, it's pretty good too. The main feel is a good one, but you need to consider some of the things stated above.

Some room for improvement, but it's the same for everybody.
All in all, good work!

Thanks for the review.
I believe in making music that sounds good, not strictly going by the book.

Nice, overall

It seems the downrater has the exact same level as I do :/

The melody is nice, but I think the rhythm is a bit lacking. Also your instrument choices, are just a little bit off in my opinion, especially with the main melodic instrument. There is hardly any dynamic variation or shifts in feel, which is pretty meh, but I think you could have worked with the melody to create something a little more exciting. I really like the melody here, it's very cool. With that in mind, good luck on any future projects. Good work!

Seltzer responds:

Thanks for the review. When working on this one, I began to feel the same thing. Unfortunately, I was in the whole "just get it done mode."

At any rate, thanks for the feedback, I'll keep it in mind.

Very cool

I've never heard of the Casualty Theme, but it must be pretty insane, listening to this. This is good work; you've mixed it well, and overall it sounds pretty neat. My only problem with it was the beat/drums and bassline, but that's mainly because of the genre I come from. They were a little too simple for me, but that's just a preference. Top notch, son!

Enzer0 responds:

Thanks! Yeah it is pretty simple but to me, achieving a simplistic feel with good quality sound is what I like to hear.

Thanks for your review!

Huh

Feels good, man. I can't help thinking of drugs, especially those of the LSD variety when listening to this, though. Nice little track.

DustyBoozer responds:

why thank you. if i can make at least one person think of a drug then my job here is done.

Duke Nukem fangame?

Sounds groovy. Why use voice clips from Duke Nukem, though? Well put together, nice job!

Only on Newgrounds I guess

The more popular someone/something is, the better it actually is. I dunno, but you've got some amazing talent. Brill.

Same as before

Except the string ensemble really does give it some extra movement. Excellent.

I write music for video games. I also write video games. I am also "Fyaopo" for those who want to know.
